Brendan Grace is hailed as Ireland's ambassador of comedy and song. Now celebrating his 25th year in show business, Grace is celebrating a career that has won him both national and international acclaim.
Brendan Grace's immense work for children's charities has won him many accolades. Grace was appointed president of Ireland's Performing Artists Trust Society, and he also received an honor which was bestowed on him by former Irish Prime Minister Charles J. Haughey, making him a Commissioner Of Peace in Ireland.
Brendan Grace has had many number one hit records in Ireland, and his self penned hit "Combine Harvester" was number one in the U.K. charts for six weeks in 1980.
Brendan Grace has hosted his own series on Ireland's national TV station R.T.E. for many years and has worked with many international stars, both on stage and on screen. In 1991, Brendan Grace was booked to entertain Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Liza Minelli, at a private show for the stars and their entourage. The trio of megastars was appearing in Dublin for two sell-out shows at the end of their Ultimate Event world tour. So entertained were they, that they gave Grace a spontaneous standing ovation. This immediately led to Mr. Sinatra booking him to appear on stage with him on his European tour. Needless to say, it was the most memorable moment of Brendan Grace's illustrious career.
As a result Brendan Grace now resides with his family most the year in the United States. Grace's wife of 22 years Eileen, and children Amanda, Melanie. Bradley and Brendan Patrick, all appear to be following in Grace's footsteps in various aspects of show business.
Brendan Grace's performances in Ireland are regular sellout concerts, and his shows range from appearances in Carnegie Hall, Radio City, Westbury Music Fair, to the Sydney Festival Theatre, London's Albert Hall and The New London Arena, with regular appearances also throughout Europe and the Middle East. Grace recently entertained the U.N. peacekeeping troops in South Lebanon where the Irish Unifil contingent, which play a major role in peacekeeping, toasted their favorite entertainer who kept their spirits high.
Brendan Grace has also appeared in a cameo role in the Irish-made movie Moondance with Marianne Faithful, and has appeared in a sitcom on the U.K Channel 4 Network.
