DIANA JORDAN
Oprah Says “She Is One Of The Funniest People On The Planet”

After Diana Jordan appeared on "Oprah" for the first time, Oprah Winfrey selected Diana Jordan as "one of the funniest people on the planet" along with Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams and Bill Cosby, and later again commented, "Diana is a star of tomorrow!" That is the effect Diana Jordan has on most people. Diana Jordan was nominated by the American Comedy Awards as one of the Top Five Female Comedians in the Country.

Diana Jordan is now a very sought after speaker/entertainer. Her new focus on HealthCare with humor for women is a huge hit! Diana Jordan is the only female speaker with twenty years experience as a stand-up comedian.

A child advocate for children with A.D.D. AND A.D.H.D., from which she diagnosed with at fifty years old, Diana Jordan, now fifty-two, is lobbying to California’s new governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger to put Arts programs back in schools which have recently been cut. Diana Jordan believes that for the child with A.D.D. these programs are essential as a form of expression and development. Diana Jordan and her partner, therapist and child advocate, Karen Derman, have formed a new support group called, "Got A.D.D.?" and hope to get National attention with it like the famous "Got Milk" slogan.

Published in 1994 by Avon Publishers, Diana Jordan’s bestseller book "A Wife’s Little Instruction Book: Your Survival Guide to Marriage Without Bloodshed" sold over 450,000 copies. This reader friendly paperback offers witty and humorous words of wisdom about sharing life with the odd eating, sleeping and mating habits of the male sex.

In 1994, Diana Jordan was featured in the HBO special "Women of the Night" that spotlighted 5 top female comedians. Diana Jordan also has two feature film roles to her credit including a performance in Sony’s 1996 blockbuster hit "Jerry McGuire" and a co-starring credit in the independent film "Loretta’s Surprise" that was featured in the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.

Diana Jordan’s first c.d. "Female, Fertile & Frustrated", was released in July 2000 by Southern Tracks Records. After performing her "Female, Fertile & Frustrated" stand-up one woman show to sold out venues across the country receiving rave reviews, The disc also features Diana Jordan’s fantastic range as an artist as she displays her roots as a singer and has fun with character acting.

Throughout her career, Diana Jordan has performed at such high-profile venues as Radio City Music Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Greek Theatre and Garden State Arts Center.

Born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma, Diana Jordan currently resides on Malibu Beach in California (one mile from Cher!) with her puppy, Miss Gracie.

Following her graduation from high school in Oklahoma, Diana Jordan enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in music, drama and psychology. During this time, Diana Jordan also competed in the Miss Oklahoma City pageant, where she won the "Miss Congeniality" award. However, the call of the stage was too much to resist, and Diana Jordan dropped out to pursue a career as an entertainer, which was encouraged by her mom, who studied opera and sang for the U.S.O. and later on radio with Lawrence Welk. Originally, Diana Jordan started out as a blues and jazz singer, performing in the lounges of Las Vegas, such as The Desert Inn, The Flamingo and The Tropicana Hotel. Diana Jordan soon discovered that she enjoyed doing the comedy asides she did in-between her singing more than the songs themselves, until, "One day," she says," this gigantic pit boss walked over to me and said, ‘We hired a nightingale not a parrot! Sing!"

On the advice of agents, managers and a certain pit boss, Diana Jordan gave up her lucrative income as a singer and moved to Los Angeles to expand her career. On the advice of comedian Shecky Green, she enrolled in an improv class taught by the late Harvey Lembeck, a comedic veteran of such films as Stalag 17 and television shows as The Phil Silvers Show ("Sgt. Bilko"). Among her fellow students was classmate - and later date-mate - Robin Williams, who told her, "Trust yourself! You are funny!" Another class-mate was John Ritter. After several comedy workshops in Los Angeles and armed with a new level of confidence, Diana Jordan decided to take on the comedy stages of New York City. As the ultimate test, she figured if she could make them laugh there, she could make them laugh anywhere.... "Trust me," says Diana, "That line should have stayed in the song!"

After successfully honing her stand-up skills in New York, Diana Jordan moved back to L.A. with renewed vigor, working the comedy club circuit. Since then, she’s been nominated by the American Comedy Awards as "Best Female Stand-up Comedian" and made numerous appearances on television and in film. For the past several years, Diana Jordan’s been touring the country with her Female, Fertile and Frustrated show. Praised by critics, in Female, Fertile and Frustrated, Diana Jordan discusses the issues of today’s women, such as menopause ("why is it that everything painful to women begins with the male gender: men-opause, men-tal illness, men¬strual cycle and hys-terectomy"), violence on TV, "why women should run the country," "what if God were a woman" and the ever-popular "things that men and women do that drives each other crazy."

Diana Jordan’s television work includes several appearances on "Oprah," where Ms. Winfrey selected her twice as a "star of tomorrow," calling her "one of the funniest people on the planet" -along with Jerry Seinfeld and Robin Williams; HBO’s "Women of the Night;" "Roseanne;"

Diana Jordan has appeared on ABC’s "20/20;" "Caroline’s Comedy Hour;" "VH-1 Stand-up Spotlight;" "Showtime Comedy Club Network;" Lifetime Network’s "Laughing Back;" and on Comedy Central. She also appeared in the award-winning feature film, Jerry Maguire and the independent film, Loretta's Surprise, which was screened at the Sundance Film Festival by Robert Redford. With the release of her first album, Female Fertile & Frustrated", and The Power of a Happy Heart. Diana Jordan has delivered perhaps the last piece of the puzzle that will launch her to the tip top!
