ERIC BUSS The Master of Fooling Around
International award-winning magician, Eric Buss, has entertained and enthralled audiences worldwide with his innovative and hilarious brand of comedy magic characterized by his uncanny sense of wit, whimsy, illusion and fun. As his title appropriately says, his is the master of fooling around!
Many have commented that Eric's one-man show seems as if it was conceived by a hyperactive child. And it was. He eschews the classical magic props like top hats, magic wands, and silk scarves, and instead has taken a more unconventional route utilizing pogo sticks, wigs and Barbie dolls to bring his magic to life. Although most agree that Eric's props are totally awesome, it is his comedic ability and wacky personality that win audiences over. When Eric is onstage, it's "show and tell" time… and you never know what he'll show or tell you.
Eric Buss has performed on five continents, and on the annual "Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon." He has shared the stage with William Shatner at the world renowned "Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival in Montreal, and made a command performance for the Royal Family of Monaco at their annual International Magic Gala. A little closer to home, he performs at numerous comedy clubs through out the country. Eric Buss has been praised by some of the top magic associations and publications for creating "one of the most original acts in magic."
Eric's professional career in magic began at the age of 20 when he won the "Stage Champion of the Year" award at the 1995 World Convention of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Although this was his first national competition, the response t his act was so overwhelming the budding magician knew he had found niche, a career, and scored a shiny trophy! A few years later Eric won another shiny statue when the International Magicians Society named him "Cabaret Magician of the Year."
A native of Arizona, Eric Buss majored in acting and theatre at Northern Arizona University from 1993-1997. He appeared in many stage productions and also served as special effects consultant for numerous plays. Eric was also a performer and director of the acclaimed improvisational troupe "NAUghty Bits." Since moving to Los Angeles in 1998, Eric has performed in numerous independent films and continues to enjoy film and stage action.
