Greg Fitzsimmons:

GREG FITZSIMMONS

"I have 5 minutes to turn around a 5 year career slump." With those words, Greg Fitzsimmons launched into a routine at the 1995 Montreal International Comedy Festival that would literally turn his life around. Within a week, he had an agent, a manager, a booking on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and a development deal with the Fox Network for his own television show.

The following year Greg appeared for 2 seasons on the USA Network on a segment called "Stereotypically Fitzsimmons" for the program "USA Live." In September of '96, Greg made his debut on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" and was featured on the "HBO Comedy Showcase." In December of '96, Greg became a regular Prime Time face as host of MTV's "Idiot Savants," a critically acclaimed daily game show that ran through March of '97 and following its cancellation won a Cable ACE Award. Timing.....

In March of '97, The Sunday New York Times ran a major feature on Greg calling him "New York comedy's Golden Boy." In July of '97, Greg returned to Just For Laughs as a featured headliner, and completed his first starring role in the independent feature film "Monumental" that fall.

In '98, Greg shot two short films, "The Callback" and "Three," was featured on Comedy Central's stand-up show "Premium Blend" and made his first appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in June. He also premiered his own half-hour comedy special for Comedy Central that December.

In 1999, Greg made his second appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and his first appearance on "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn." He also worked on two television pilots for Comedy Central and VH 1 and premiered his own one-man show "Dear Mrs. Fitzsimmons" in New York as part of the Toyota Comedy Festival.

In 2000, Greg made his first appearance on "The View" and VH1 's "The List." He made his third appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on January 10, 2001.

In 2001, Greg has made his first appearance on "Late Friday" on NBC, and guest starred on "The Andy Dick Show" on MTV. He also performed at The Aspen Comedy Arts Festival where he won the Jury Award for Best Standup Comedian. In the next two months he is booked to make his 4th appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and his 3rd appearance on "Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn." Next month Greg is a featured performer in the prestigious Melbourne Comedy Festival in Australia. In the meantime he is developing a television show with NBC. Greg is living in Los Angeles with his wife Erin and their 5 month old son Owen who has bright red hair.
