JORJEANA MARIE
Born to a Pennsylvania Dutch family, Jorjeana grew up churning butter, baking bread and smelling the aroma of… Mud at five a.m. Yup. Her father was a Drill Sergeant in the United States Army and her mother, a devout Jahovah's Witness.
"Mom prayed for everlasting life while Dad trained me in tactics to utilize in case of..."
With her cheery home life, she was at ease in school, putting on puppet shows staring her feet, bringing in the punchlines to slide-shows and creative-writing her way through homework assignments.
Of course she became a stand-up comedienne, actress, and writer constantly appearing in numerous clubs and in films and on television shows and stages- Off-Broadway and Regionally. What else would be?
She is the author of three one-woman shows: Bliss, Ally, Maryjane & Me, and NY I Love; several produced plays and thousands of mediocre poems. She interviewed eric Bogosian and explored the depths of the New York comedy scene for her column in The Comic Bible, contributed to Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live and performed in a sketch or two.
She was also featured on episode of Chapelle's Show - though she hopes her mother doesn't see it.
Jorjeana works regularly in commercials and voice-overs with clients ranging from American Express to Nickelodeon and is a regular performer for the non-profit foundation Comedy Cures, traveling to places like Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang and Gilda's Club as an Official Humor Ambassador…
Her stand-up has been described as a blend of over-the-top silliness and wit and she is known to be an ultra-friendly comic who has fun with the audience instead of making fun of the audience…
Jorjeana performs regularly in NYC, occasionally in LA and everywhere in between… loving every moment of it.
