Margaret Smith began her comedy career studying at the famed Second City Theater in Chicago. "After getting enough parking tickets to paper a small bathroom" she left Chicago and moved to New York where she began performing at local comedy clubs. It was only a few years on the New York club scene before she was spotted by one of David Letterman's talent scouts and invited to make her first appearance on national television.
Her acerbic wit and delivery have made her popular with the press, as well as an invited guest on numerous late night shows and specials. The American Comedy Awards presented her with the Funniest Female Stand Up Comic award in 1996. She has toured live and throughout the US as well as Montreal, Queens Theater, London, Amsterdam and Australia. She is a regular on the Tonight Show and Conan O'Brien. She just recorded her first live CD, "As It Should Be." Margaret was most recently seen as a regular on the Fox Network's "That 80's Show."
