ME AND BLUE
Jerry Ryan has entertained throughout the United States and Canada during his lengthy career as leader of “Three on a String”.
Now, Jerry has been able to branch out and perform a one-man act that is a truly unique musical comedy presentation. Unique because of a set of homebuilt, one of a kind, set of drums that are played entirely with Jerry’s feet and that allows him to perform simultaneously on the guitar, equipped with two bass strings, and the harmonica which makes the music not only sound like but actually be a four piece band. You have to see it and even then you may not believe it. At a recent performance a real (regular) drummer in the crowd was overheard to say, “Have you ever seen one man play four instruments at one time? Neither have I, till now!”
Jerry makes it appear as though it just happens with little or no extra effort. Perhaps it happens because, and now for the truth, there is one small assistant working very hard to make the phenomenon occur. That assistant is “Blue” the “Corrugated” K9, playing his heart out on every song.
Starting with that foundation, Jerry takes advantage of his more than three decades of experience to present music, stand up comedy, timely quips, and when time allows a personalized parody or poem for a particular group. He tells his audience right up front, “I’m here to have fun and you might as well join in.” Sure enough, the audience is quick to understand that he is serious about the fun part and relaxes and joins right in, and then they turn around and cheer for Blue as though he were the star of the show.
