PABLO FRANCISCO Hispanic Comedian
A Funny thing happens to audiences when they see Pablo Francisco live for the first time. In a matter of minutes, crowds go from the quiet response that often greets a relative unknown, to jolts of boisterous laughter and applause.
What accounts for the transformation? Namely the 20-something Tucson native's natural ability to create vividly funny living pictures. Pablo Francisco brings forth strikingly authentic off-the-wall sound effects and brilliant impressions. He takes the stage with the confidence to improvise and a talent that is undeniable.
Pablo Francisco's send-up of grimly narrated action-movie previews, with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a tortilla vendor targeted by the mob, is one good example. Another is his hilarious spoofing of those intensely melodramatic Spanish language soap operas on the Telemundo Cable Network.
Pablo Francisco got his first professional break at age 17, when he and his buddy formed a duo called the "Blowout Boys," and snuck into a local steakhouse and took honors in a comedy competition against older, but clearly inferior opponents. "A lot of them read their stuff from notes. At least we had memorized our material!" recalls Pablo.
From humble beginnings, big things have started to happen. Pablo Francisco, now an LA resident, has been featured in his own half-hour stand-up special Comedy Central Presents... Pablo Francisco, can be heard on Fox's animated feature The Family Guy, and has been seen on Showtime's Full Frontal Comedy, Comedy Central's Short Attention Span Theater and Make Me Laugh. He has performed at the 1998 Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and was cast member on Fox Network's sketch show MadTV. Pablo Francisco also served as the national spokesman for Churches Chicken and appeared in a series of national premovie commercials for "Coca-Cola" which stars Pablo as the concession guy.
Pablo Francisco is currently busy distinguishing himself in top clubs around the country. His latest credits include a set on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Pablo's half hour special Comedy Central Presents...Pablo Francisco also continues to be a favorite of the Comedy Central Network. In March 2003, following the success of his two comedy CDs, "Knee to The Groin" and "Sausage," Pablo released his third CD "Pablo 3."
