Paul E. McGhee, Ph.D., created the Laughter Remedy. McGhee was a pioneer in humor research, laying the groundwork for the current interest in the health benefits of humor. After receiving his Ph.D. in developmental psychology in 1968, McGhee spent 22 years conducting basic research on humor and laughter while teaching at the university level. Paul McGhee is internationally known for his own humor research, and has published over 50 scientific articles and 11 books on humor.
Paul McGhee quit his academic career in 1989 to work full time as a Professional Speaker, offering programs on humor and health/stress management to corporations, hospitals and other organizations interested in learning more about the benefits of humor, and how to build them into your life. Paul
McGhee's "8-Step Humor Skills Training Program" is used by both individuals and organizations to develop the basic foundation skills required to learn how to use humor to cope with job/life stress, and develop the resilience required to remain effective on the job-even on the tough days.
