Rick Starr:

RICK STARR

Rick Starr has been a comedian since his earliest days as a "Class Clown" in Rockaway, NJ, where he was born. His love of entertaining and making people laugh continued on to his college years at East Stroudsburg (where he earned a degree in speech therapy). While in college he discovered the hotel resorts of the Pocono Mountains, got an act together and began to organize his stand-up routine with tremendous audience response. He worked behind the spotlight, to study his craft, and now successfully performs in front of it, conveying his original and topical humor.

Rick Starr draws upon his heritage and on his childhood experiences for most of his material. His humor is intended to be no more offensive to the conservative listener than that of late-night television. "If You Work Clean," Starr says, "You Can Work Anywhere."

Rick Starr's warmth and charisma on stage have enabled him to charm audiences across the country. He is in demand for conventions, colleges, and cruises. His tours and appearances include Harrah's - Reno, Tahoe and Atlantic City. In addition to many theater engagements, such as Carnegie Hall, Rick has appeared with stars such as: Gladys Knight, Tony Orlando, Tony Bennett, Eddy Arnold, Mel Tillis, The Pointer Sisters, and recently on tour with Huey Lewis and Shirley Bassey.

Rick Starr has appeared in Atlantic City with Jerry Vale at the Claridge Hotel, Trump Castle with The Pointer Sisters, Trump Plaza with Donna Summer, and at The Showboat Hotel.

Columnist Bob Ralkes reported, "a number of ingredients go into Rick Starr's act, there's a youthful innocence, there's a professionalism, he's so good he makes it all, timing, phrasing, delivery and attitude look easy ... Starr and his audience can be hysterical even before he finishes a gag."
